If your disposal doesnt work then it could be 2 or 3 things. 1st is the obvious....is it plugged in? I'm ruling that one out though. 2nd there should be a reset button on the bottom of the unit. If when you turn on the switch and you hear nothing then try that first. If you turn on the switch and it hums then the 3rd thing is this. In the bottom of most disposals right in the middle is a hole. In this hole fits an allen wrench. Forgive me for I forget what size. Insert the allen wrench and try to turn it. It may be difficult so you may have to put some pressure on it. This turns the whole motor. Once you get it to turn then turn it back and forth a few times. Make sure you take the allen wrench out before you try the switch again. This should help you out. If not then you may want to think about a new disposal, especially if this one is old.....good luck

This is a very vague question. When you say you got food stuck in the sink, what do you mean? Is it stuck in the drain lines, or in the disposal, or to the side of the sink? When you say your disposal doesn't work, do you mean it doesn't run, or it just hums, or it runs but nothing goes down??? WE need more info. If you didn't put anything dangerous in the sink, then the stuff you're seeing in the disposal shouldn't be dangerous.
