If I want to add more RAM do I have to replace something or just add a new part into my computer..?

The reason Im wondering this is my computer is a 2003 Model
with 256 MB of Ram and I just got a junker 2006 Model with I believe 512 MB of Ram,can I take parts out of this computer to put into mine like the extra RAM or ??

As long as the memory cards are the same form factor (same pin count and so forth) you should be ok. To check, just remove the memory cards from your systems and compare them. If they look the same, where they plug into the motherboard, you should be good. Memory's cheap tho. I suggest you buy yourself a couple of 512MB cards, or a single 1GB card and use that...if you can.

Most motherboards have either 2 or 4 slots for ram sticks.

First of all they need to be the same KIND of ram.(They probably arent) Then you just open the side case with a screwdriver, ground yourself, Undo the clips on the ram, pull it out, take the cover off the other computer, open the clips on the next free ram slot, put the ram stick in and lock it in place :)

u can check whether it is the same DDR-400 or DDR-130 blah blah blah.
