My boyfriend keeps accusing me of lying just because i can't remember my past crystal clear. For example: I wrote letters to a guy i dated 2 years ago and he said i lied to him because i never told him about it.

A lie involves the intention to deceive--either by saying something that is not true or by not saying something that is. Only you know, in your heart, if this is applicable to you and your boyfriend.

Whatever relationships you may have had in the past are none of your boyfriend's business, but if you are still writing to one of your past boyfriends I don't blame him for not liking it.

YOU know whether you lied or not. Trying to loophole out of it is lying to yourself, that's even worse. If you truly forgot something and said otherwise you made a mistake. If you omit important details when answering a question. That's lying too, try it in court and find out sometime.
If it's none of his business tell him to f.. off. But don't try to avoid the truth by fooling yourself.
Turn it around on him, nobody's memory is perfect and most people don't like people prying into their private or past life.
Better yet, dump his ***. He sounds like a jerk anyway. It won't get better either. If he's already calling you names and controlling you.... lookout.

I think that it isn't lying considered lying unless he asked you about it and you said you didn't... It would be just as bad to just bring up "Oh I wrote letter to this guy 2 years ago", like a slap in his face or something.

Just because you didn't tell him doesn't mean your lying. Tell him to grow up. People shouldn't have to tell others every little thing about what happened in their life. I suggest the next time he does this tell him this "Okay since you want to know everything little about me you can tell me every little thing about you." It should shut him up I think. It is not a sin to keep secrets or forget something, if it was you would see people walking around telling others their secrets or everything they forgot.

If you don't remember that you wrote letters to a guy 2 years ago, it's not. If you did, then its lying but there are degrees of lying depending how important was that.

this is not a phylosofical question but more like phycological one.

That question you have to respond it yourself

No. Lying is saying something that isn't the truth. That's it. Of course, if you keep something from someone on purpose, that's still bad.

Don't take the bait.

Personally, it's none of his business. It is your past, not his. Don't allow his jealousy and insecurity to harm you. That is his issue to deal with.

I remember things today that I have forgotten from the past. That is not a lie or an attempt to deceive someone.

Suggestion: smile and say, "I'm sorry that you don't trust me."
