What would you do if you were permenantly brain dead. And I mean permanently. You are brain dead, do you still want to be alive?

Maybe I should end my life, before I go into that situation. I don't want to live anymore, maybe I should go on to heaven right now.

No. It'd be horrible, just lying there in a vegetative state.

Dave, why end you life based on an imagined scenario?

Does anyone know what the future holds?

Take each day as it comes and enjoy the good and endure the bad.

If you truly are thinking of ending your life, I urge you to speak with your doctor or a psychiatrist.

Situations in life are temporary. If you are going through a difficulty right now, it will not last forever.

Please do not provide a permanent "solution" to a temporary "problem".

Best wishes to you.

How would I know, I would be brain dead ? The body is just a shell.

Heaven does not exist so I would scratch that idea. We are matter formed from energy. Energy cannot be destroyed so we are eternal in one form or another.

Why are so many people so obsessed with the individual consciousness ?

Even youngsters possibly could have one among those directive! .

KC has the best answer here if you are serious. Suicides don't go to heaven, the darkness envelopes them.

I have left instructions in my living will to keep my body alive until my organs could be donated.

Follow KC's advice, now!

According to my Advance Directives, it would be a DNR, Do Not Resuscitate. So to answer your question and your statement, my answer would be, NO. Why would I risk living in a vegestative state and have no control over my body. That would be a lost cause for me.

when you are brain dead, you wont know it, unless you have gone on and look back, as long as your brain is working, i think you should focus on this life you have been given, you will move on soon enough, and then probably view you time on earth as very short
