does the success of the HP books make her a great writer along with Fitzgerald and Hemingway? or is it not possible to class her with the classic greats

i do think her audience plays a major factor in the credit she should get in the literary world but the fact that adults can enjoy the stuff too makes her writing all the more impressive to me eventhough i personally dont enjoy it

Probably at the same level as Enid Blyton or Agatha Christie. They sold a lot of books too. But you probably want to wait and see if she can write anything else, and also if the books are still popular in fifty years time. Hemingway she isn't.

It's not for us to truly say at this time, and perhaps it won't be in our lifetime. I'd say she ranks up there with some of the more popular of today's authors. But to ask if she's up there with authors like Hemingway and Fitzgerald seems a little premature. Give her a few more years before that question can even truly attempted to be answered.

She's very popular now, and rightly so. But how popular will she be in five years? Or ten? She'll still have to be as popular as she is now, and perhaps even more popular than now, before I think we can really say she's up there with such authors as these.

It all really depends on the long term success of her books. If people forget that they were ever written in a few weeks, then she'll just be another author that was momentarily succesfull. If that doesn't happen, then she might place fourth or fifth, right behind Dean Koontz and Stephen King.
