Rest assured, your babies butt crack is normal! My oldest son actually has that same "V" you are talking about, and I actually asked the ped about it at his 8 week check up. She told me that it is perfectly fine and that everybody has this "V", but it is just more apparent in some people. Try looking in the mirror at the small of your back sometime, and you may just find the same thing. I know, sound's strange, but I lost a lot of weight and when I did I actually noticed the same thing on myself. Consult with your pediatrician if you are truly concerned, but in my opinion, you have nothing to worry about. And congradulations on your new baby!

I have the same butt crack LOL I never thought it was a problem until my hubby said something about it and asked me if I used to have a tail!! :s I wasn't premature, so I'm guessing it's just that way for some people? Maybe I'm off so if it bother's you you should ask your pediatrician. Even if he didn't mention it, you may need to because he may have other things on his mind besides your baby's cute little bum :)

She probably doesn't have enough 'meat' on her yet. If it makes you feel better, ask her doctor at the next visit.
As new parents we want everything to be ok. I bet you that she's just fine.
Good luck and congrats on your wonderful new girl baby.

Well, they say that it is the only reminiscent part of a tail we were supposed to have but due to evolution we don't, we just have that "V" you call.
It's perfectly normal, we all have it although when we grow it's hard to see it because of the body fat...

Yes it's normal, I have two kids and one of the is 2 weeks old. he's got the same thing and so did my daughter when she was born. once they get some "booty meat" the v goes away. :) ( I don't think i have ever said "booty meat" before lol.

My daughter who was born at 34 weeks had the same thing. As she grew and put on fat it went away it took until she was 4 or 5 though.

Ask your babys doctor about it.
It could be something called Spinabifita Occult.
It shouldn't be a problem.
Anything you worry about.....be sure and ask your doctor.
