No, people mean well but say the dumbest things. When my son died someone actually said "Good thing he was only a baby".
Feel how you feel, it is a tough situation. People are trying to make you feel better, but they can't walk in your shoes.
My heart goes out to you, and your husband.

First off God Bless your husband and everyone like him that are so unselfish and brave they are willing to set aside their safety for what they believe in.
I have had a few friends that fought in the War myself and I know your pain. The time feels like it sits still when a loved one is in that situation. The best thing you can do Is pray for him and his allies, and talk to some others in your situation.

nope you are just the only one living it but i am sure it feels like he's been gone forever.People try to say positive stuff to keep peoples spirits up.I mean it would be very harshful if they said negative things to you etc.So just take the positive in stride try and keep busy so you won't dwell on the negative and how long he's been gone etc.its easy for me and others to say but just don't dwell to long cause you don't want to become depressed. Pray for his safe return and pray that you will have the strength to not over think how much longer it will take for him to get home.

I know some people that have husbands that went to Iraq, and it was tough. You're not being too sensitive. What you're feeling is just proof that you love him.

Unfortunately, when you're that far apart, it won't go by fast. Sometimes people want to say something, but they don't quite know what to say so something silly comes out. My thoughts are with both of you and I hope he comes home soon!

It's time for you to get a hobby...
don't you have any kids?
find something to keep you busy and keep your mind away from it.
volunteer your time...
it's difficult at first but believe me it won't help if you just mope on it... find something else to focus on and make you feel good...
my 2 young daughters are away from me... it's been almost a year... i can't wait to see them in a couple of months... woooooooooohooooooooo...

you are not too sensitive- I can't even believe you would consider that. my husband left for one week on a business trip and I cried everyday. I can't imagine what you are going through.

without your love ones by your side, days just feels like years. Anyway I prays that your husband and all other US soldiers will return safely after their tour of duty.
