it's the dumbest thing ever. today i was in a parking lot, this hispanic guy cut in front of an african american lady, and she yelled out the window IT'S CAUSE I'M BLACK ISN'T IT?!

EVERYONE get's cut off in their lifetime. if a person is a jerk, they'll be a jerk to you no matter what your race is. don't think that it's just because of your race. it's the most obnoxious thing when people of certain races think they have it harder than everyone else. if something happened in history with your race and another, don't think it affects the future. because in this day and age racism isn't the main problem anymore. in some communities it might be, and if it is don't feel like EVERYONE is against you because of your race, just get the hell out of there and go somewhere else. GET OVER YOURSELVES.

sorry,
rephrasing the question.

"WHY DO SOME PEOPLE OF ALL RACES THINK THEY'RE MISTREATED IN SOCIETY?"

2007-07-21 15:16:18 · update #1

yeah but if you are mistreated because of your race, do you have to assume that every time someone offends you or upsets you that it's because of your race?

Discrimination is everywhere. Although not everyone participates or is guilty of it, I have witnessed it happen to many of my friends and on occasion myself. It is also not all about race. It rears its ugly head in many forms. You came across one extremist, people like that are one reason why society hasn't found a solution to this problem.

I love black people; both men and women. I don't care what a few out of millions have said or done, I still like black men. So much hate is unhealthy. With so much hate in your heart, how can any love get through? Maybe the black men around you have a reason for mistreating you. Perhaps you are unpleasant to be around. Everyone's different. So you shouldn't judge all for what a few have done. And Jeyda, you are far too cute to be so hateful. It's clear you have some esteem issues and you feel inferior. Perhaps you should seek therapy. Take the other black men haters with you.

Probably because certain races are mistreated by society. Racism is real and certain races are discriminated against in many areas of life. If you discriminated because of your race over a long period of time, it wouldn't be hard to think that every mistreatment is discrimination. Until we as a society can pull it together and stop racism altogether, you might as well get used to people getting offended about racist treatment (whether that is really the case in the situation or not).

No, it shouldn't be assumed that every time someone is mistreated that it is because of race. However, if you are mistreated because of race over and over and over again, it would probably become a knee-jerk reaction.

WELL, I wish that were true BRITTANY
But I am considered White, and I live in Massachusetts, It is probably the most liberal state in the union, but I have friends of color. African, Asian Indian, Cambodian, Spanish Speaking, and Brazilian.
Truly these wonderful folks in Massachusetts are STILL treated different than"white folk" so I can truly see when they cannot just GET OVER themselves, and march on with their lives.
Some of these folks are Doctors, and Pharmacists, and Engineers, Horticultural PH.D's . Yet when they go to a variety store, or hold a yard sale. Folks treat them like the hired help! SORRY BUT it is still true! I wish you were right and I was wrong!

I don't think anything is wrong with me as a person except I'm a white guy and a lot of people don't like white guys theses days. Racism IS still a problem these days. Try being a white guy in Iraq, or for that matter Washington D.C. and see if they spit on your big mac or in your face. Ya, lot's of fun being a white guy.

Some people want to be victems. But then again, some people are victems, without a choice. I have been the target for harrassment because of being a female, and it really makes me a little more paranoid next time a guy crosses me. You might just want to think of it from their point of view, and feel empathy. They are obviously upset for a real reason in their own mind. Whether its real or not, THEY feel it is. So don't kick them when they are down, sweety.

well said. if someone accuses you of comnmitting an act against or treating tehm less favourably just because of their race then you should be able to sue them. A bit like the race card - you are not allowed to (and quite rightly so) treat people less favourably just because of their race so - equally - it should also be a crime to accuse people of treating you less favourably just because of your race. This is just another form of racism as it can only be used against someone of a different race and should be punished accordingly"

Until you've been through the s**t I've been through, you'll understand why some people of certain races think that they're mistreated in society.

BTW, it's only SOME people of ALL races and that black lady was stupid for that.

...
the fact that so many races have been looked down upon and discriminated, it's hard to extract the poison out of the blood.

The women was a little paranoid to think that this guy even cared about her or was thinking of her...

If I don't like someone I wouldn't even be near them... so yeah...

Its easy for people to have an excuse for their failures in life.. and blaming others of other races for their shortcoming is easy.

What I also don't like is all the reverse racism going on in this country and no one is saying anything about it. Chris Rock is the biggest racist piece of crap I've ever seen on TV and movies and its okay for him to make fun of other races, but let one white person say anything racist and they are done for... Not at all cool...
