I'm a libertarian. I dislike democrats and republicans. They both love big government. I havne't meet a small government conservative for awhile. Aw the days of Albert Jay Nock.

I mean I think to some extent the poor should be taken care of to some extent, but I think It bothers me that people work for the government. They are the real scum who steal from the honest income worker.

Republicans like to think that democrats support the state because we get something out of it.
I get nothing out of the state except taxes that go to questionable causes and purposes.
And yet, I refuse to join the Republican effort to turn us into a corporate oligarchy.
How you respond to this moment of history depends on your ability to perceive the real complexity of the situation.
If you think it's black/white, good/evil, con/lib, you have become a tool to be used by the people that want to change your system of governance.
Turn off the tube, shut down the radio, read a book and start thinking.
These are really complex times, and the people no one ever thinks about, the corporate hit men, are really the problem.

We all benefit in some way from tax money, trying to see that its used in a manner that benefits the most people is where the parties differ, the Republicans offer the Trickle down theory, where the rich get to spend tons of money and you get the leftovers, which get smaller down the ladder, and Democrats that believe that the more workers have enough money to buy homes and cars and furniture and appliances etc, the more jobs there will be and the more money we will have. All of us drive on tax paid roads and use libraries and police and firefighters, But the huge corporate and agricultural businesses need to have their welfare re-evaluated, and most probably cut.
American society is split between those thinking they can do it all on their own, and those who realize that the vast majority of the people here who work hard for their living are only one paycheck or one serious illness away from disaster.
We seem to have become a country of "I've got mine and I want yours too".

Not at all. I understand your frustration with taxation but apparently you don't understand why 3rd world countries are called like that. Just mention one country in which the people are taking care of but there is no tax nor government benefits.
The problem with taxation here are many but basically one and is our monetary system. I think we should be proud that we take good care of our poor people and provide them with opportunities to succed, in fact that is our nick name "the land of opportunity " but we are trying to cure the world with our budget and i think that is a big stretch.

is the answer you're looking for "Democrats and Republicans"??
Jeez -- and just who was it that passed this Medicare Drug plan at unknown billions in added costs and who was it that mandated a quadrupling of corn based ethanol production leading to a doubling of the price of corn and follow on increases in the cost of many items at the grocery store?
Looks to me like both major parties are trying their best to buy all the votes they can from anyone who's willing to sell out.

The rich get richer on the backs of the poor. The gov't is run by the rich and all they need to do is convince the masses they are doing all they can.

My first thought was not people on welfare, etc,. but fat cats who get corporate welfare. There is a revolving door between government and big business. The rest of us are just peons to them.

You have those who benefit from society and those that don't. Sure there are a few who are in between. But basically there are the haves and have nots.

Yes...except to say those who "benefit" don't benefit at all...they are stuck in a cycle of dependency. As long as they have it handed to them, they will not make it without.
