I've found Wikipedia useful and/or fun when I've looked - but I think pasting any of it as Answers misses the point and reveals folly. After all, any questioner could do that for themselves. Isn't the idea of Answers to offer something of ourselves, for better or worse, for information or fun? I think so. That's the joy of it.

As long as they give proper attribution it's cool. I use Wikipedia, especially when I want a graphic or a chart for an answer. I like to put the link right along with the quote, and will usually put it in my sources block. I ave always believed that using a source gives the questioner more cause to trust the info.

I have NEVER posted even a link. But I agree with Susan; I've seen a few links that were perfect for me, & I might not even have found them myself. But SAVE me from the cutting & pasting page after page after page. I just sit & scroll right through them, & don't even read them. I really appreciate answers from people who take the time, who are informed, & thoughtfully type an answer. Also, religious or not, I get a bit agitated with my thumb on my mouse through as many as nine or ten pages of scripture! Oh well, nothing is perfect for everyone.
Edit: Hey! shahbarak, you got in there just before me! We're really on the same page (no pun).

i do it some times only when some needs a fact, but i try and stay away from wikipedia because one never knows if it is real or not. if they need an opinions, then i use my little brain and think of something that i think is clever but no one else does.

They are "Cut and Pasters"...be kind to them...they need to join Answerholics for help with this dreaded affliction...so the next time you see an answer with a wikipedia pasted to it...take a moment out to pray for them.

Depends. For my questions, I don't want wiki answers because I could do that myself. As for helpful web links, those I've appreciated in the past, because sometimes a person knows of one I don't and it exactly what I need.
As for my answers, I've also done both, but usually try to do a combination. Give my opinion, and provide a helpful link.
Sometimes smartazz answers are the best.
Comic relief is ALWAYS helpful.

Not resourceful, very dependent.
I'm really pissed off with people who copy and paste long, long answers from Wikipedia.
I think it would be better if they would EDIT it...not just copying the whole page, with these---> [1]
