okay i have a emachine M2352. And it will not power on. I was told that the power ribbon cable may have come loose, or disconnected, should i worry about anything else like the motherboard, or any other idea's of what it could be!? - - I also baught a new ac adapter so i know its not that - - Thanks for the Help!

you will need to have another mains plug installed in your computer, this will cost you around $110 if you can find someone local to do it, the pin plug is around $10. but the labor cost is the most expense, if and when you get it repaired then be very careful how you place the power cable into your system, the power pin is very fragile and is easily broken... this is a common fault with laptops, people tend to be very rough when plugging in the power cable.
