The Shark will only take a couple more months before he hits 6 inches (his adult size). The Gourami is a slower grower that could take more than a year to get to his adult size (up to a foot long).

Your red tailed black sharks can grow big within a couple of years, but they actually grow most of their lives and can reach a fair bit bigger then 6 inches. It's a shame they're kept so poorly by most that it's an accepted idea that they stop at 5. If you keep them in too small a tank, like, say, a 10 gallon, it will get stunted and die young.

Gourami's range from an inch long to over a foot long at full size, so unless you actually state what type you have, any random answer is probably wrong.

Sorry to say but you still have a while to go. Our Redtail shark is about 5 inches and our gomeis are about 4. I have them in a 46 gallon tank.
