The areas in the City of Las Vegas are Summerlin in the northwest end of the valley and The Lakes in the western part of the valley. Anthem is a very ritzy area in the south end of the valley and so is Seven Hills (also south part of the valley). In the city of North Las Vegas is the Alliante master development. That city received an empty piece of land from the Federal Bureau of Land Management which is bigger than Alameda or Berkeley California! The Green Valley area of Henderson, although a master-planned community, is starting to show strains of aging.
You have to keep one thing in mind about the whole area. They have not used one board foot of kiln-dried lumber to build the frames of houses since 1989. So, mold, mildew and dry rot in the timbers is starting to evidence itself. make sure you check on those items. They won't show in "curb appearance".
