Depends on the culture you were raised up in, and around. I lived in the busy city of Charleston, SC and roaches are bound, so are palmetto bugs. Visitors scream at the sound of them scurrying across floors when the lights come on! But, in South America, they eat bees. Some societies worship spiders and even snakes. Some keep an eye on the development of some to tell the pending weather, like the wolley bear Caterpillar. The thicker his fall coat, the colder the winter. Fact is though, we need bugs. Insects, spiders, bees, they all serve a purpose in our exosphere, and are necessary. It was quoted that as many as ten thousand spiders live with in a one mile square. They provide nourishment to birds, frogs and snakes. Not to mention help break down caresses, etc. I am not a thrilled by bugs my self, but, I understand why they are important.

Do you mean why are we disgusted with bugs or why bugs are disgusted with us? I assume it is people being disgusted that you are asking about.
Bugs tend to creep along people and possibly bite them. That made disgust for bugs an instinct since it was only in the last few hundred years that the problem with bugs and germs was discovered (so it sure is not learned).

I belive the reason why all humans disgust bugs is that because of disease and infection! Us humans have no idea where they have been! Bugs Can lead to tape worm, Ecoli, and most importantly, The West Nile Virus.
And the other reason why humans disgust bugs is that they have to many legs. Thats just to abnormal!

I think it is because of two reasons. First of all, they are totally different looking and are not cuddly at any stage in their life cycle. In fact nothing on earth resembles insects, except arachnids and crustaceans.
Second, several species of insects have biting mandibles that can inflict a painful bite.
This is why people are disgusted by insects.

hmmm..how do you know bugs are disgusted by us? if anything, i think they would be terrified of us.
i think you meant, "why are we digusted by bugs"?
because in that case, there is no scientific explanation. it has to do with culture. our culture perpetuates the idea that bugs are "dirty, slimey and gross" because that is the way the common man thinks. however, in some countries, people EAT bugs. obviously, they don't think they are disgusting. it's all about the common provincial thought. we think what everyone else thinks.

I hate them because usually they can harm you in certain ways. Many people don't like them because they are known as hidious. I also don't want to sacrifice something out of my body so that they are able to live.
Does that answer your question, thank you that will be 10pts! LOL

Because they are so different to us.
Six legs, antenae, wings, crawling movements, living on the dirt or garbage, attracted to waste.
Horror movies also contribute to that.

I don't know about other people, but I don't like them because they have way too many legs. Unless they're real small, like ants.
