You need to have excellent grades and have the ability to demonstrate that you are an active, contributing participant in your school and community.

So you should work to get the best grades possible on top of getting involved with your school's organizations and organizations within your community. It is also a plus if you work to gain a place of leadership within these organizations as well. That will give you a bit of an extra edge.

Good luck!

Good Grades, good references and that you are a person who is motivated and interested in the subject you wish to apply for. The best way to find out is look at Universities that offer the course you are interested in, look at their entry requirements shortlist a few good universities that you think you would like to go to, have a look at teaching methods and how the course is taught, go to an open day have a look around. The times and the guardian UK newspapers publish a university league table that lists the top universities overall and by subjects. These tables however dont mean because its Oxford or Cambridge you are going to be happy there. Different univesities have different pros and cons, firstly you have to be happy with where you are studying before you can really enjoy your course. If you are planning to move away to university then go to the city have a look around, do you like it there, can you see yourself staying there even in 2 years time when everything is not so new, how far away from home and costing. Top universities are now charging top prices depending on where and when you will need to check the price of the course, many things to take into consideration but right now have a look at what grades you need and how likely you are to achieve them, if you think your slacking then try a little harder as you will be working towards a goal. Hope this helps :)

varies with which university it is you want to attend. Best advice i can give is do a little research on the courses you would like to do and at which university, and then from there see if you're meeting the university requirements your through predicted grades.
A lot of very good universities (such as Manchester) are looking for A's at A-Level, as well as a solid GCSE background, but then this varies with which course you want to study. (My friend got into Manchester with a D - she's studying Philosophy)

Good Luck!

Good grades, preferably by taking honors and ap classes
Extracurricular activites especially ones that show you were actively involved in your community and/or school
Great letters of recommendations
Also a really good application essay that displays who you are as a person and not just a student. You should get your teachers to go over them both for imput and to check it for mistakes and grammar :)

Depends what you consider to be really good! Uni's have certain entry requirements. Places like cambridge expect people to have AAA in Alevels but also extra curricular activities count for alot. A friend of mine got into to Cambridge with ABC at Alevel cos he'd done loadsa other things, but a girl I know got rejected twice with AAAA at Alevel! It does depend on what you've done and what kind of person you are!

A combination of ACT/SAT and good grades. You must have taken reputable classes, not PE, Shop, or home economics. Depending on what college or colleges you are looking at. You should start obtaining applications for schools you are interested in.

Erm... good grades! (a random guess) i.e. AAA and extra curriculum activities i.e. participation in competitions and getting involved in clubs and societies.
