im 13 and wanna get a boat lisence ..and it says i have to be 16 or 17 to drive a PWC? i dont know what that is..is it a boat or something? but i can be 12-15 to get a motorboat operater lisence

Above are correct. Depending on your State you can probably operate something like a Fishing Boat with a 10 Horse Power Engine or less without Adult Supervision. It kinda messed up now for a young person. But, you can follow the link and click on your State to learn more.

Jeff is correct as to letter of law. Personal Water Craft as it pertains to individual use. However the laws DO differ from State to State. Most states say you must be 16 and passed a boater certification course to operate BY YOURSELF, otherwise a older operator onboard. Check your individualstate.

I THINK IT MEANS POWERED WATER CRAFT---AS OPPOSED TO TO SAIL OR OARED WATER CRAFT.
