do you believe that where you live has influenced you into the person you are today...? do you think that if you lived somewhere else you would have turned out differently..or do you think that the person you are today was predetermined, like you were born to be the way you are...? For instance if you are a shy or a hostile person you would have been shy or hostile no matter what because of your genetics...?

I think that it is both. I do believe that we are born with natural tendencies. However, I believe that our environment can stifle or enhance those qualities.

I used to be almost the exact opposite temperment (according to the Myers-Briggs Temperment Sorter) than when I was young.

I've always had the tendencies that are most prominent in my personality now, but they have been intensified over time as a result of certain experiences/circumstances in my life.

I think is both. I have certainly developed my defensive, skills/strategies because of the place I live.
But I think if Id had moved to Jamaica or a peaceful place with not so much racism, prejudice and stereotypes on the streets/work place even internet, maybe I'd had not developed those skills.

so its both

I think the fact that I never lived in one place very long (military family) gave me an excellent education in how to get along with people.
