Baseball has had a long history with racism. Even today, it still exists. Most of the racism is targeted to baseball writers. They are the ones who write all these stories about Bonds and other players.
Barry also doesn't help him self by being all business all the time. Many writers use the excuse of him being a jerk or a snob to down play their racist views. Look at Mark McGwire. He was loved by every one. To say that he did steroids was a sin. He was baseball's poster boy. That was the wrap on McGwire till like the meeting in congress.
It's a simple fact. For one reason or another, people and baseball writers loved Mark McGwire. Most people and baseball writers have never like Bonds. There is a combination of many elements that brings up racism.

Some just hate Barry so much, they convolute the issue. The same people had no problem with McGuire, and wish he could hit 800. Watch what happens when ARod, and maybe Pujols approach Bonds. Someone will turn it into a Hispanic thing. How ridiculous.

I can answer this one.
It's because no actual proof has turned up against Bonds taking steroids. Those who make the accusations that people are racist against Bonds, USE the fact that Bonds has never failed a drug test, and put steroid alligations out of the picture as to why people hate him, and they bring up racism because they believe people are looking for ways to hate Bonds.
Look, for those who claim we're racist, how come Vladimir Guerrero or David Ortiz have never had a problem with racism? Because they didn't cheat, and because they're not approaching the HR record? Racism is dislike for an ENTIRE people, NOT JUST ONE MAN.

Well, 75% of black people pull for Barry Bonds. Read Yahoo.answers here in baseball for a day and you find hundreds of answers from white people calling blacks racist. The race thing is FAR from solved, alas, especially in baseball. White people are against Barry Bonds, and 3/4 of the blacks are for him. Is it right? I don't know, but it IS a polarizing issue. Many white people don't like Bonds' personality and his overtly racial statements, but this arguement is difused when whenever Gary Sheffield or any black player says ANYthing about race and is peppered by white people who call him a racist.

Is Barry Bonds black? I didn't know that and I don't think it matters, I certainly never heard the black thing; what I have heard is there is a huge controversy because of alleged steroid use and the validity his record would have.

I honestly don't hear or see people making a race issue out of this. The only reason it is a controversial issue is because of Bonds' alleged steroid use.

because people think that he isn't getting a fair shake on breaking the home run record (you know questioning his motives) so they cry foul, or yell race

Hatred is irrational, and doesn't have to conform to established facts or even the most tenuous of logical patterns.
