When we look at anything with love, nothing can go wrong. Yet words are tricky. How many of us agree on the definition of love, for example? Some say that pleasure is automatically an attachment. There are all sorts of mental traps like this or maybe philosophy would have died a quiet death centuries ago and so would all of the wars. Confusion!
We wouldn`t be sitting here on Y/A.
`Being in harmony`, same again. Is this harmony with oneself or with some others or with all others? Variety is essential to our existence. Can we have both harmony and variety? Depends on our understanding of what this all means. You see, Rena, words are tricky, never mind putting them in the hands of professional word twisters like lawyers, politicians, clergy, etc. There are even people who have created new languages in order to provide clarity for their followers, yet to no avail. Why do you think that is? It reminds me of the biblical story of the Tower of Babel.
My closing `words`on this answer are these. Beware of those who tell you that pleasure and enjoyment equals attachment. Beware of those who tell you that money is evil/attachment and then ask you for payments and/or donations. When love is flowing through you and out into the world, all is well. Cheers!

We look at objects, even people everyday and admire their beauty. How often we go to a museum and see the most breathtaking oil painting, walk down the street and see the most beautiful individual, the question is, do we really look and admire or do we take it for granted and not take in its beauty?
I don't think it is a matter of loving with or without attachment. I don't want to own anything in this world that takes my breath away that belongs to nature or the universe to gaze upon with awe. Nature gives us the privilege to view its beauty but to be in one with it; to feel its love and gentleness, its strength, its oneness with the universe.

Love involves attachment thus removing complete objectivity. This will lead to some form of attachment even if it is just emotional. I am not saying that this is a bad thing but just the way things are.

It would be nice if things were accepted & loved without conditions. Unfortunately "dependant" types do what I call latch on & sponge off others (friends & loved one's) like a clever parasite. Clever because they are manipulating others psycholgicaliy for their own gain. I hate to be so dark about the whole matter, but even the most "wide-eyed" individual can be knocked-down & dragged out before they realize it.

Wait! consider this...We ALL at one point or another have observed a beautiful sunset, a remarkable rainbow, an enchanting sky. Now...did any of us think to ourselves, at that exact moment of observation...I wish I owned that? This is not to dispute human nature and the desire to possess, but that is not ALWAYS the case.

Nothing is given to us. It is just there. We are not given either. We are just here.
Spending our time and especially our mindfulness with a person or something that is not a person is more affectionate than anything else.

My job is to give people orders, to clean up trash and to strip mine landscapes. So this is my rude reality in this beautiful vision.
