I really don't think cricket fans are turning to other sports. Fans will know that cricket has ups and downs, and they'll stick to the sport.

As for women's cricket, it's definitely an area which needs more attentions. Women are entitled to enjoy the game just as much as the men. Even though realistically, people will never follow women's cricket in the same way as men's, it still deserves investment, as it matters to the people who are involved. The fact that teams are winning matches by making 9 runs, or 27 runs (recently Bangladesh beat Nepal who were 28/8), shows that the board need to work on it. If a team an win by making a low score, what does that say about the skills of the players? They have the desire to play, but is the opportunity there to help them improve?

More women players with good places to practice , develop and improve will help bring the standards higher.
