What should the Indians do with Cliff Lee? He gave up more hits to the first 3 batters this game than Fausto Carmona gave up all last night. He's given up 5 runs. They can't send him down to the minors, and he has been so good over the past few years releasing him could be a problem. He has shown his 2005-2006 form briefly of a few starts this year. He is only 27 or 28 so it's not that he is to old. They have pitchers in AAA that could do much better than him.

Cliff Lee hasn't been right since coming off the DL but lets not throw out the baby with the bath water. The Indians are not going to trade or release Lee. He could just be having a bad year or not adjusting well since his return, maybe not 100% recovered but Lee has shown flashes of brilliance in the past. Teams are pitching starved out there and only a moronic GM would release Lee who has sometimes been projected to have the stuff of a future Cy Young candidate. Other teams would be all over it, even with the problems he is having at this time. I am sure Shapiro and Wedge are kicking themselves in their respective behinds for letting go of Jeremy Guthrie who has been on fire in Baltimore. I would like to see the Indians promote Adam Miller but since he has returned from the minor league DL he has not fared so well himself so they are probably not eagre to promote. Who else do you propose they bring up? Also - why would they dump Lee when Sabathia can become a free agent soon, will command big $$$ and possibly be on his way out of Cleveland leaving HUGE gaps in their pitching - no Lee, no Sabathia. Think, man, think.

All i'm able to do is frown. I won't hate nonetheless, the Yankees do what it takes to make confident they win. Many communities, in the event that they have been interior the situation the Yankees are in now, that's the perfect team in baseball -- could chill out and sense comfortable devoid of making any strikes. The Yankees decide for the jugular, and make confident they have it. With Cliff Lee added to their rotation, and the persevered hitting of fellows like Cano and Swisher -- initially theory to be roleplayers in this team, it extremely is finding bleak for the remainder of baseball. yet whats up, something can take place. sturdy success, Cliff Lee is a type act, and a performer to declare the least.

He's lost 7 of his last 10 starts, and only went 7 innings twice in that span.

I guess the Eric Wedge feels the team is doing good enough with him in the rotation that he keeps him in there. He is also a Southpaw, along side only Sabathia, maybe that has something to do with it.

But I think they should let a call-up from the minors have a crack at pitching in their rotation. The worst that could happen is that it would "motivate" Lee to get better, so he doesn't lose his spot.

Lee has been a real disappointment this year and with the Indians in the chase they might have to make a move. It's really too bad because Lee has some talent and they should not give up on him completely.

We should put him in for a few more games, see how he does, then depending on his preformance either trade him or keep him.
