It is set to automatic B, but what does all this mean?

Leave it on auto B, that is for thier network, some systems run on digital, some are analog, and some use both, so leave yours on auto B, and you will have no problems, if you change it, you could lose roaming capabilities, etc..

Verizon is an CDMA carrier. It is preset to automatic B because that is the frequency that Verizon is using in your area. As long as you have America's Choice Plan with free roaming you will be fine.
