You need to be VERY careful about this kind of second hand information. Right now at this point all you have are rumors, and rumors can ruin people, even if they arent true. At 4 years old, you should have discussed good/bad touch a LONG time ago. However, if you havent..... Try not to be so serious you scare her, and DONT mention this person unless she mentions him to you. Just casually tell her that you wanted to make sure she knows where its appropriate to touch people and where its not. Explain that touching or being touched in an area that the swim suit would cover is not nice and that she needs to tell you if such a thing happens. Ask her if that has ever happened, but keep the whole thing as light as you can.

You do not need sex education to teach children to know when they're inappropriately touched. There are programs that the PTA can sponsor and bring into the school for this. Parents' permission is required and the parent can be present. They work out this type of thing out all the time. That is just liberals' excuse for getting sex education into the schools. It's a lie, pure and simple. If you had any real experience with kids you'd probably know this.

do you have a lot of experience with 5 year olds?

psychologically speaking, the concept "do not do xxxx" does not exist in the human brain. What a 5 year old hears is "do xxxx" -- and then they do xxxx.

Inappropriate is what a 5 year old is and does ... as soon as she or he figures out what actions are inappropriate. It gets great attention. Shocks adults. And more that I can't understand.

Don't believe me? try discussing 'poop' with any 5 year old. They love the subject. They'll giggle and laugh while you turn four shades of red.

Now try to imagine the subject of not touching in the wrong places. Got Ya!! You just thought of what some 'wrong places' are and how you'd either touch or dislike being touched. Well, the 5 year old won't just think of it -- they'll do it. Immediately.

Which is why appropriate toileting behavior is an important subject in pre-school.

If that was the case there would be a land slide of arrests within the moral majority. I figure the Republican children would grow up and then vote for a Democrat because of their upbringing.

I do not want the schools to teach that and a lot of other morality based things. That is what the parents are for. If the parents aren't doing the job in some instances why does my child have to be involved in the solution? I don't want the government screwing up what I am trying to accomplish. It is none of their damn business. Public schools are not there to teach morality or religion or hygiene. They are there to TEACH English And math, and science, and geography and they are doing a damn poor job of it. They need to concentrate on the needed courses and leave parents to do their part. This is why we are desperately in need of a voucher system so everyone will have the ability to fire a substandard school.

If you leave it in the hands of government paid strangers to teach 6 year old kids about sex, you will never know how inappropriate that will become, or have any control over it. Will it stop at where not to let someone touch you, or lessons on what fisting is? Academia is not exactly famous for its restraint in that subject.

Because Republicans would rather have those conversations with their children themselves. For some reason, the thought of a complete stranger discussing sex with their children makes them uneasy.

Go figure.

Strange question. When did the schools replace parents, anyway?

Teaching my child appropriate touching is my job. Not yours.

It is not up to you, Obama or the schools to teach our children anything other than academics.
