Depends on your definition of "a lot." After all, if you are only 1 in a million who loses a baby, that is a lot for you! But statistics show that 15-20% of pregnancies end in miscarriage, with the majority being before 12 weeks. It doesn't have anything to do with being your first pregnancy or not. Also, try to keep in mind that those stats include all women, even the ones who don't get proper prenatal care, who drink, smoke, and do drugs and awful things to their bodies during pregnancy. So if you are doing all the right things and following doctor's advice, your chances of a healthy pregnancy will be higher. This is NOT to say that anyone who loses a baby did anything wrong. I'd hate to infer that. Sometimes a loss just happens for no reason. All you can do is your best. Some people do everything right and still lose their babies. I am on my second pregnancy now. No problems so far. Good luck, and God Bless.

The only thing that I have heard is that about 1/3 of pregnancies end in miscarriage. I dont know if that statistic comes mostly from women who got pregnant the first time or not, but its a bit discouraging.

I don't think it's necessarily the "first" pregnancy but about 15 to 20 percent of known pregnancies end in miscarriage, and more than 80 percent of these losses happen before 12 weeks. This doesn't include situations in which you lose a fertilized egg before you get a positive pregnancy test. Studies have found that 30 to 50 percent of fertilized eggs are lost before a woman finds out she's pregnant, because they happen so early that she goes on to get her period about on time. Every time you get pregnant, you face the same these same odds. I did miscarry my first pregnancy and I'm now trying again. I won't let the odds stop me and hopefully you won't either :)
Good luck.

no longer ALL first pregnancies lead to miscarriage, yet some people say that loads of previous due sessions are surely miscarriages while the girl did no longer comprehend she became pregnant. it particularly isn't any longer a huge deal because of the fact she wont even comprehend shes having a miscarriage. it particularly is going to sense merely like a time-honored era (perhaps a sprint heavier) yet perhaps each week or perhaps purely some days previous due. yet even it particularly isn't any longer continually a miscarriage the two.

I wouldn't say "most", but I do know it is common. This is my 3rd pregnancy and I've never had a miscarriage
