I keep thinking im actually in labor with the bh contractions cause they get really strong and i had some that lasted all day wed, thurs, fri, and this morning i thought i was actually in labor cause the contractions were really close and getting stronger. I'm soo confused and getting sad. My midwife told me im only dialated like a 1 1/2 and i still have some thinning to do. But why do these contractions get soo strong and wont go away if its not real labour?

With my 3rd pregnancy, I began having regular Braxton Hicks contractions in August and she wasn't born until Nov. 12. I would go days with time-able contractions that would get to 5 minutes apart for hours, but never get any closer and than would stop by bedtime or shortly after I went to bed. I began to dilate 7 weeks before she was born. My doctor said to call when the contractions were 5 minutes apart and didn't stop when I tried to sleep. I was 5 days past my due date when I woke from a sound sleep at 2:45 AM to go to the bathroom. As I got out of bed, my water broke. I began having what felt like BH contractions, but they quickly became stronger and more frequent. My legs began to shake uncontrollably while getting ready to get in the car to take our older 2 to grandma's house. I had intense lower back pain and a lot of pressure. I wasn't sure we were going to make it to the hospital, but fortunately she was turned posterior and needed a forceps delivery, otherwise, I think she might have been born in the car. She was born at 7:18 AM. Real labor contractions won't go away and will get closer together and more intense.

well technically it is labour, you in the early stages every contraction you have is dialating you even further, you will get there soon. the hospital pretty much wont' take you till your about 5 cm. when it gets to the point where the contractions are really strong and they are five minutes apart and last about a min then head straight to the hospital/ birthing centre.

i actually just got out of the hospital tonight for false labor! i had contractions every 3-6 minutes for 2 hours. they said it was nothing and let me go. i guess i was dehydrated :( but yea, the contractions kept on getting stronger and stronger. the body is definately preparing itself for birth!

Oh I was in so much pain last night and thought I was going to throw up. I had back ache and stomach ache, I even woke up this morning with stomach pain and in a cold sweat.

I dont know the rhyme or reason behind it all, but we are tough cookies and have to put up with it to a degree.
