Funny, but I can remember when I was one year old and that I had full intellectual adult mental functions. I remember being in my crib and shaking it, the name of my baby sitter, the lady we rented from and her dogs. That I wanted to talk as I had that mental ability but could not coordinate my muscles to form the words and how frustrated I felt in my inability to do so. I can remember episodes in my life vividly, what was said, the time, the theme, the person and it could be years past and a very insignificant short period, maybe 2 to 5 minuets of conversation.

Remembering details from the past does not necessarily indicate that you have what is commonly referred to as a photographic memory. The truth is every persons memory works like a photograph in the sense that you can picture something without looking at it. The difference between those who are considered to have a photographic memory, and the average individual is that the former has the ability to to take a picture instantaneously, and remember every detail. If you can't memorize large quantities of numbers just by looking at them for a few moments, you probably don't have a photographic memory...sorry. You can improve your memory, however, to be able to memorize large quantities of information, and store it indefinitely, is something you are born with.

I don't really know where you might get help on this subject, but I know someone else with that type of memory. He remembers his uncle trying to teach him how to walk (10 months or so). He remembers numbers easily, has read hundreds of books, yet can remember exact pages where he recalls a certain passage. But he cannot remember female names. Men are usually ok, but not girls. Strange, huh?

Personally, I think the human mind was made to do a lot more than it does now. I think that the Adamic fall left room for diseases, disorders, DNA mutations, who knows what all? The mind ceased having the abilities it once had. Your type of memory, I believe, was one of those abilities.

It would be really cool if you could control it better. I hope you find the help you need?

Unfortunately, just as having a photographic memory is more or less "built in," so is your level of control. The only thing you can do is practice, and be more aware of what you're seeing, but for the most part, it's either something that you have, or you don't have.
