I think it is very important for our president to have high moral standards. The president's integrity should be above reproach in every aspect of his or her life.
It's been so long since we've been able to say that about an American President and that's just sad.

Our President has access to our most sensitive material. Have that out on the open market is not a good thing. When you have a president with a lack of moral integrity you have secret technology sold to countries that could do you harm.

Nowadays, just because you say you have high moral standards, that does't mean much in the long run.
And what exactly is meant by high morals?? law abiding, non cheating,
what would low morals be?? divorced

Are you serious??? That is priority #1. Without integrity you have nothing. When some people say "morals" they mean sexual behavior, but to be moral is alot more than that. Do you know about the 10 commandments?

high moral standards are how we judge people to serve on just about anything--keeping in mind that ome moral standards are more important than others.
i really don't care whether a person cheats on his wife, it's none of my business. i may be more skeptical of their honesty in the future, but that's my own prejudice.
acting illegally (and immorally) is of the highest possible importance in my mind.

Personal or religious moral standards? It doesn't really matter what they do in their personal life.
Professional ethics and respect for rule of law?
Absolutely vital.
Our system is hopelessly stacked against that happening though. Right now, I'd settle for a functioning brain and the tiniest sense of shame.

Cause if they didn't they would be cheating on their wives with all of the interns- teaching america that it is Ok to cheat on your spouse and take advantage of young women.
