Can someone please explain why Abercrombie displays ABERCROMBIE merchandise on mannequins and look hangers, but don't sell any of it?? If you ask 'Excuse me, where is the shirt on the display located? I'd like to try it on.' The employee responds that they don't carry the merchandise on display in the store and therefore can't sell it. This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of! The purpose of displaying the clothing is so you can give customers an idea of an outfit they can purchase. Someone really needs to give these people a lesson on retail 101. And to think....the minimum requirement to be a manager at Abercrombie is a bachelors degree or higher.....?

You should go to their web site, and let the company know about it. Believe it or not, companies DO listen to letters from customers; there's even a formula for the number of people actually experiencing the problem based on the number of people who write in about it. At the very least, you can blow off some steam, and it might actually do some good!

Proof positive that a degree does not a salesman make; isn't it.
Let's face it you either have the gift of being a good salesman, and how to market, or you don't. It does not make any difference how many degrees you have in marketing or business or anything else.
I mean darn the whole idea of a display is to high light the items your are selling and featuring.
Even I know that and I couldn't sell a glass of water to a man dieing of thirst.

Hmm wow that does sound quite dumb lol. I work for AEO and everything we have the mannequin we have in the store and if we don't we'll tell you to take it off the mannequin if its your size. I think I've done that with a pair of panties and jeans. It's all about the mentality of the customer is always right so yes I'd agree thats quite dumb.
