The most amazing concert I've ever been to was just a few months ago. It was a 69 Eyes concert at an adorable little place called the Bluebird theater. After amazing starting bands, including Wednesday 13, the stage went dark. All was quiet for several minutes, then Cry Little Sister (the theme song from the movie The Lost Boys) starts playing. Lights flicker on stage and the band runs out. They take their places and jump right into their song Never Say Die. Several times, I caught the guitarist's gaze and he smiled at me, and once I blew a kiss at him which he returned with a smile and a nod. I never wanted the night to end, I could have danced on forever to their hauntingly beautiful songs. Can't wait until their next tour!

Tell me about the most wonderful concert you've ever been to, and please explain why its by far the best.

Punk shows rule! My favorite was Sloppy Seconds and Mark Ramone. Inviting people to get on stage and sing, Sloppy Seconds rolled out a beer cart and started passing out beer to all the fans. Everyone knew all the words, Afterwards they hung out in the bar talking with everyone. Now thats cool!

Trans Siberian Orchestra!!

We've seen them every year for about the last 5 years, and their shows always get better with each year. They always change "just a little something" to keep their fans coming back for their shows, but it's never a change so big that it majorly effects their performances.
In case you don't know who they are, they are a cross between a rock band and an orchestra. They perform pretty much holiday only music, and only tour during the holidays. They actually have two bands that tour at the same time, the East Coast band (which is the original members, and the best group) and the West Coast band.
You've probably heard some of their songs. Wizards in Winter and Sarajevo 24/7 are two of their most popular songs. Wizards was also popularized last year when someone decorated their house in Christmas lights that were timed with the music. Spectacular show! You can find the video on youtube, as well as TSO's performances.

I saw Bob Dylan play in a small club, from perhaps 50 feet away, on electric guitar with an electric band...he played five or six hours! He was warming up for a tour and wanted to try different ways of playing each song (as he always does) and he played each song maybe three or four different ways!
Other memorable shows: David Bowie (a consummate showman); Jimmy Page (a magical guitar presence on stage) and Ray Davies/the Kinks (a real performer)
I never saw Springsteen, although I could have, twice. I had a chance to see the Stones but didn't want to spend $150 on a ticket, you know. And, I can't say I saw the Beatles but I did see Ringo! Ringo used to tour in the 80s, with guest stars, and it was a fun show to see.
