I was in a wreck where my car hydroplaned and spun around on the highway a couple of times before going into a ditch. If it hadn't had been so late there would have been more cars on the road and I could have been killed.

The woman's liberation movement.
The toxic cloud of the Mt. St. Helen's eruption.
The successful oppression and alienation of the people of the world by corporations, governments, and military; had it gone another way, it would have been devastating to the capitalists' global establishment and today's global economic crisis--not that that's a bad thing =)

In my lifetime i have seen 3 that would have been devastating.
1. the first gulf war.(we would have had te problems we have now then)
2. the clinton bush election.(clinton was a scoundrel and a lier but my life and many i knew and still know were better off then)
3.the berlin wall coming down(hey it ended the cold war and saved many lives)
but over tme many many things would have been devastating.the fall of rome,the reveloutnary war in the u.s.the u.s. civil war.world wars 1 and 2.the cuban missle crisis.this list can go on for an infinity

Flying through the air at about 100 MPH, out the side window of my corvette when I was 21. Ended up with just a scratch.

when my son was 10, he was accidently hit in a the head by a baseball bat by a friend, my son had walked up behind this boy & the boy didnt know he was there.... the result was a skull fracture & intensive care for 3 days. no brain bleeding, thank God, no long term damage.

well for the Christians I would say that if jesus had not give his life to save humans souls it would had been devastating beacuse hell would be the only spot after death
