I like the API Freshwater Master kit. This has tests for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH and high range pH. It seems to cost more at first, but with the number of tests you get for each parameter, it will save you money over the test strips. This is a liquid reagent kit, so the results are more accurate than the paper strips as well.

I like to use Jungle. The test strips are really easy to use. What I dont like is that there is a 5 in 1 test strip kit but it doesnt include ammonia. So you have to buy a separate kit for ammonia.

Aquarium Pharmacuticals, Inc. makes really accurate test kits. These are the liquid kind that uses vials rather than the test strips. Test strips are quicker but they are not as accurate. This company makes kits for freshwater and saltwatwer. They come with the little logo of 'Dr. Wellfish'. Check out this link:
