Gradually. Not quickly enough.

I think we are moving ever forward, but as Dru said, it's gradual - deeply ingrained cultural though usually is. However, I think it's misleading to take the idiot questions you see here as representative of the percentage of Americans who are racist prigs. Think about it - if race isn't an issue for me - something I don't think about much or consider a major issue, will I even visit these questions, let alone comment? Probably not. If I'm a narrow-minded, racist jerk, will I gravitate to these posts like a mosquito to standing water? You betcha. So don't take the idiot posts to heart - the anonymity of the 'Net makes it an attractive place for folks to magnify their ignorance.

Racism on no account left. I went to a predominately white college, and no comedian tale a minimum of ninety% of the pupil inhabitants became racists in some way. fact is it won't in any respect pass away thoroughly. some won't in any respect permit people merely be people. they're going to continually see their pores and skin colour, faith, or sexual orientation be the deremining factor on in the event that they like this man or woman or no longer.

Imagine yourself as American white walking in downtown Pakistan... surely racism is everywhere not only in America and America has melting pot of all races and creeds and religions so its impossible to remove discrimination and or prejudice without it starting in infancy with children.....if you notice kids on playground they don't care about that kind of stuff... at what point in persons life does it become significant that is where it has to be caught and stopped!

I think we could if a few things happened.
1: People get over their persecution complexes.
2: People stop living the stereotypes.
3: People quit giving racists the attention they crave.
Until then... Not really.

No, I don't know your age but when i was coming up when filling out any form you had to put your race down. white, black or other. Now it like 25 categories so that whites will remain the majority. That's just the way it is. Arrogant is what it is.

Go see Hairspray... it will lift your spirits on this issue...
(singing) You can't stop the beat....
I have always tried to keep my friendships diverse and understand other cultures...
I am gay and buddhist and I can tell you its not just about race but also sexuality, religion and socioeconomic status.
The only thing that I am admittedly prejudice about is political parties... other than that, I really try not to judge.

i do think that a lot of people have come to realize how stupid it is to judge someone based on their skin color, but there is still way too much racism in the world!

Honestly, I think most of us are trying, but some idiots are holding us back. So I think that we've improved a little, but we still have a long way to go.
