I just bought a 1981 Victoria 18. Only a 1000 were ever made, and I'd like to get in touch with other Vic owners.

Boy are you lucky I had one for several years ago. They are Fantastic little boats. I used it for several years and then became a Sea Scout volunteer where I took down there to help train the scouts in small sailboat handling. The boat was great what would happen is in a heavy wind the kids liked to sail with one rail in the water, not necessarily the best way to sail, when they would do this the boat would point up and spill the wind out of the sail, makes the boat really safe and a good training ground. Try using a back stay it will help, I really don't remember what else I did to make it sail better but with some fussing the boat would sail great. When it was at the Scout base I left it as it came from the factory, hoping the kids would learn about sail trim and tuning the the mast. I wish I still had one. I now have two boats a 27' Catalina and a 17' Cape Cod Cat, but I still miss the Victoria there great.
