I feel that being competitive and creative are reciprocal to each other without which other is useless. Honestly speaking people often take competitiveness as negative which is not the case. Being competitive, it shows you exists and you are alive and can determine your paths, can understand where you are heading and where do you need to head. Only those dare to be competitive who believe in their selves. A dead moron can't think of being competitive. If there was no sense of being competitive, being creative was a little difficult. Creativity comes if competitiveness exists there.

Lets take the example of a Motor Company. If there wasn't any trend of competitiveness, companies were not hiring creative minds to develop new models every year....hope it makes sense.

One or the other?
I'd say being one makes you strive to be the other. The both urge each other on in one way or another. If you're competitive you will become creative in how you train or practice and the same goes for being creative- you cannot grow unless you are surrounded by people who ARE better than you. It makes you strive to be better.

It depends on your human and spiritual nature. Some of us tend to do both and feel that is better. Great musicians and artists tend to be creative and politicians and athletes are highly competitive. I don't see one being better than the other. It is like saying which is better an apple or an orange. It is more of a personal taste. I personally prefer a banana thank you.

I'd rather be creative than competitive coz face it or not there's always someone better or greater than me so why should iwaste my time being competitive when i could be creative in my own self and would someday progress into something good.

Creative won't pay the bills. Though creative may get you higher pay if you are finally given the opportunity to stop being competitive

It is best to be creative in your competition rather than win by bruit force.

Actually they are both natural to life. They both have a role in our personal growth.

Creative ... by far! Why would I want to make myself miserable by comparing myself to everyone else. There's always a "faster gun in the west" and someone else who may be perceived as "better."

In my opinion, if your creativity is not artificial it will be competitive without effort.
