Question, why did you have to adjust the coil gap? Did it come loose? The gap on that coil will make no differance so long as it doesn't drag on the flywheel. It is set from .003-.008" The problem with the gas in the oil is the carburator. Get a rebuild kit and take the carb off and clean it. Soak it in a good parts cleaner and make sure all the passages are open. Reassemble with the new parts. Like some one else said, check the float to make sure it doesn't have gas in it.

If you hadn't taken the safety switch out I would have recommended taking it back for a warranty repair. But altering the mower voids the warranty.
It could be several things preventing starting. We need more information on what it's doing to make an informed guess. Like does it spin over, is the air filter clean, is the spark plug wet, etc.
If you could provide more info we will try to give you the best approximation we can!

I had the same problem with mine. After rebuilding the carb and doing a tune-up it still got gas in the oil.Come to find out it was a bad float in the carb.It got a pin hole in it some how and caused it to not allow the gas to shut off.Try taking the bowl off and carefully removing the float.Give a shake and see if it's got gas in it.

The float needle valve is known to leak. I put a little valve in the gas line feeding the carb of mine just in case.
