Motley Crue is by far my favorite...GNR had a lot of potential, but where are they now? The Crue is still around after over 25 years, and had one of the biggest selling tours of 2005.

Motley Crue had more than one hit song...They had only one #1 ALBUM (that spent over 2 years on the charts), but they had hits with Home Sweet Home, Smokin' in the Boys Room, Girls, Girls, Girls, & Dr. Feelgood, just off the top of my head.

Guns n Roses were much better, but it seemed like each album got a little more worse than the one before. Their first album was great, but after that, they kept going farther and farther down hill. On the other hand Motley Crue has had a lot of ups and downs too, but MC always seem to climb back up, where GnR was never able to do so.

Motley Crue hands down.

Motley Crue. Best reason I can give you is the lead vocalist. Axl sounds like a constipated grandmother, while Neil's voice is a lot more respectable. Go back and listen to old Crue and you can't help but be very impressed with this band that gave birth to its own genre.

Motley Crue. If Axel Rose's voice did not grate on my nerves, I would vote for Guns and Roses.

they were actually from 2 different eras, crue from the 80s when everyone was a hair band. admittedly they were the best of the bunch. however guns and roses was the 90s when rock was floundering and they put some new life into it. so id have to say guns and roses

I like Motley Crue more.

I've never been a huge fan of either bands, but I just can't stand Axl Rose's voice...

Guns -n- Roses. Axl had an incredible vocal range. Slash is an amazing guitarist. They had songs that were just about sex, drugs, and rock n roll--but then they had wonderful songs with deep meaning like November Rain and Civil War.
