That's a little low. The normal use to be 120/80 but now it's 130 or 95 so as you can see your 106/71 is pretty low either way. What you can do for this is eat foods with a little bit more sodium content in them and your blood pressure will eventually level out. I've been on blood pressure medication since I was young and I'm now 44 and I take medicated as well so I'm very familiar with blood pressure and issues surrounding it. Take care of yourself and pay attention to your blood pressure ... just like high blood pressure is normally classified as the "silent killer" ... so is "low blood pressure" ... so be careful and God bless!

120/80 used to be considered normal. Now this is considered pre-hypertensive. Anything below 120/80 is normal. 103/71 is excellent. Howeve your blood pressure will vary throughout the day, so have it taken at different times will give you a better picture of your overall health. For most people, it will be lower first thing in the morning after urinating, but before eating.

Normal BP is 120/80, pulse 60-80, so you're slightly off. Smoking is likely contributing to the high BP. You arent so far off that changes to lfiestyle wouldn't help. I understand what you wrote and whatever home measure you're using is off. It is very unlikely you have readings that low for your BP with a near racing pulse. 97/35 would have resulted in any physician putting you on wide open oxygen. It sounds like you may have had some white coat syndrome going on, some elevated hypertension with the infection. You very well may not need antihypertensives, but you will need to follow up with your doctor. Your pulse ox/sats and everything would be way off if you had these readings simultaneously. That said, hypotension could result in the symptoms you describe (lethargy, malaise, etc.) I would suggest you ask your doc for do-overs, something doesn't add up here. I do think it was a bit presumptuous of your doc to suggest meds after one reading.

Your blood pressure is excellent. Perhaps you are an athlete.
The absolutely perfect blood pressure is 90/60 and that is the actual blood pressure of wild gorillas but as my GP said such perfect figures are virtually impossible for us humans because our lifestyle is not as healthy as that of wild gorillas. For us humans 120/70 is regarded as very good or even 120/80 is OK but over 140/90 is too high and you need treatment such as tablets.

Yes, 120/80 is considered normal-healthy. 140/90 is considered high depending on your age. As long as you aren't getting light-headed or passing out when you stand up, lower pressure like yours is a good thing.

Excellent. 120 over 80 is acceptable on the high end. You don't want either number to go under 90 over 60. Keep up whatever you're doing!! :)
