My son has heard this urban myth from his friend. Is it true?

it's entirely possible, but it doesn't necessarily happen to everyone who jumps... check snopes.com and see if they have any info on it.

No, you die of brainsquash, unless you were already going to have a heart attack at that precise moment.... which would be a good reason to jump. Tell your son to contemplate how much more painful it would be to have a heart attack. It would probably take a lot longer to die from heart failure than falling. Urban myth, I think not. Pretty twisted, though.

Some older will.
But what actually will happens when jumping straight it makes a very deep crater down many feet and the brain is all over because the head is very heavy.
Also the speed does it in this case, when making salto's the speed is slower and surviving is better, still don't practice this!

I think it may be diagnosed as a heart attack
However the soul leaves the body just a fraction from death
So I would say that would happen which then would be thought of as a heart attack

^It could happen, but it's not necessarily true, if you have a healthy heart most likely you will die from the impact of hitting the ground.

Negative, most people die from the sudden stop which tears all the major organs loose from their moorings and from massive head injuries.

not necessarily! there are lots of parachuters who do the same (and more) every day! noone sees them dying of a heart attack. but I guess if you have a weak heart...it is possible, but probably rare.

i sure someone will heartattack before they die cause they scare the height of the building when jumping down.
