Why in the worl do the NFL need a wonderlic test for? I mean c,mon, Rex Grossman had a 29 and Peyton Manning had a 28. Tests don't determine whether you're a football player or not it's what you do on the field, not on some stupid IQ test wish they need to get rid of.

The NFL uses it as a tool. You really do need to be somewhat smart to play professional football (guys get cut because they can't pick up systems), and the Wonderlic is a way of measuring that.

No it's not absolute; no test is. But it is handy to know that a player can absorb new information easily.

Any extra information you have to make a decision is good information. Its an IQ test and in theory its nice to know if the guy has the mental ability to learn a complex play book.

Of course having it, using it, and applying it are all different things.

A small child or someone at that intelligence level is going to be less likely to absorb and NFL sized playbook than someone that has an above normal intelligence. It doesn't matter how physically talented you are if you cant learn the plays.

Because teams will invest millions into some of these players, and it's always nice to know if a player has the intelligence to pick up a system fast enough.

I can imagine exactly why you'd be against any type of IQ test. You're a Grade A, nimrod.

"wish they need to get rid of."

it's just one of the many, many tools they use to decide who they are going to draft, a draft pick is some one they spend millions of dollars on, I think they should be in-titled to give them any kind of test they want to.
