When I talked to someone on the phone over my connectivity issues, I think they said that one was built in it. I'm not sure though. It is the SB4100 Cable Modem version.

All modems have some form of a router built in. However, some modems may only have one CAT5 network cable port on the back.

My new updated modem from Time Warner does have a built in router according to Time Warner. It's an Arris and is suppose to be the latest to handle the internet speed (Jackrabbit) I pay for.

No, it doesn't have a router. It does route data from the DHCP to your computer, however you'll need a 3rd party, or a timewarner issued router if you'd like multiple computers to connect to the internet.

Or you could do Internet Connection Sharing via Windows XP, but that might be a bit of a hassle. :)

I have a SB4200 from Time Warner and it does not have a built in router. I had to purchase my own router at Bestbuy. I got the netgear cable /dsl router.
