My goldfish just started this like maybe 10 mins ago. He keeps floating on his side and breathing and will stay like that for a couple of seconds and that swim around for a few seconds like he fine and than he starts floating again. I just changed his water real quick maybe took me 5 mins to do it all could I have put him back in his tank to fast after i add the chemicals? someone help i don't want him to die.

I know when you change the water temperature drastically it can give them a shock.

What kind of chemicals did you add? I don't think goldfish water require any chemicals. I have two and never do much of anything but change the water.

sounds like it might be going into shock...
did u change his water before or after he started this??
you might have changed the water temp. to fast for him...
or it could have been the chemicals you put in...
or how much of the chemicals you put in

The water temperature might have been too cold or hot, try putting his tank outside. If not, he's a goner.

When my fish did that, they soon died. I don't know how to stop it from happening.
