The guy in the radiohead song said "I'm a creep. I'm a wierdo." This means he is also special, albeit in a bad way. Do you think he was aware of this when he wrote the song?

Thom Yorke was definitely aware when he wrote Creep. This song is your usual (or not so usual since we are dealing with Radiohead-a very complex and ethereal band) song that explores everyone's occasional days when their self-esteem is down. At some point we all feel inferior, especially when we observe someone who we are infatuated with. This song describes a person's infatuation with someone whom he feels he can't compare with.

Special means unique, either good or bad. When he says he wanted to be as special as the girl he talks to, he meant it in a way of perfection...he wanted to be perfect like her.

I don't think he realized that those words are practically synonymous. I think he meant that she is special, meaning important, or noticeable, and he wish he was that way so maybe she would notice him. Honestly I have never looked at in the light that you gave, and it does make sense though.

Yes, he was. Actually he is saying he KNOWS he's special but to the eyes of the girl he's "weird".... because she is not as special as he is. She is a common person. And that makes the guy even sadder.

i dont know. the way i intrepet the song is that "Special" for him is good and nice, unique, etc. I dont think he meant for a creep to be anything "special."
