It's an intriguing thought Dolly. If it weren't for you my in box would be half empty everyday.
It really does amaze me how consumed I've become on this website, a year ago i would have laughed at the thought, but now I'm here and the world is stuck with me. i hope your going nowhere soon, you bring me thought provoking Q&A everyday. Keep up the good work!

I had this conversation with someone I had become close to on another provider, he disappeared for three months and I missed him dreadfully every day. I waited for a mail or an IM or anything from him at all. The he appeared out of the blue to tell me he had had a double heart attack.

You cant let yourself become close, however harsh that sounds, to faceless people. Altho I have to admit hearing people's voices do make a difference.

If it really does worry you, get a close friend to tell the site...not all of your maties can be technophobes..but I hope you are around for a v v v long time to come :0)

Very simple solution. It's the one I used for myself. Go to the funeral home and make your own arrangements. You will have a file there that gives instructions to the funeral home and your family on your final wishes. Leave a list of e mail addresses and the message you want sent. The funeral home will see that it's done. By the way, just for the info - I am having a direct cremation and no funeral. I have directed that a cook out with old rock and roll music, etc. be played. I don't want any of my friends to suffer in a grave yard in Lord knows what weather when a break with tradition makes every body more comfortable.

Sweetie: None of us are going anywhere! We are all to mean to leave the scene and leave the world to more capable hands...don't be ridiculous!
We go AWOL in spurts...there is actually a real world out here that we partake in :-)
Yesterday, I drove 6 1/2 hours to see "Kiss Me Kate" in Selinas, CA...the lead male was better than any I have ever seen, and that includes Howard Keel in the movies..fantastic voice (Hamburg State Opera Company, very famous, and he is a family member), then drove back today....what I am going to take a vacation from is CARS! Driving anywhere is tiring...Driving anywhere in California is impossible!
Hang in there, we will also. None of us are that old, dear heart...we have too damned many years left in us, and we intend to use every second of them showing the generation behind us how to live (they don't have a clue!)

I have thought about that too.
I have done my best to give honest caring answers but few responded to my questions so I stopped asking.
I figure that folks here are the same as in the physical world, either they care or give you lip service.
I work with younger folks & I only talk with them briefly at work.
Other folks I know, outside of work, are younger & have lives of their own.
I live with my dog & we hike & go places together.
If something happened to me-who would know, except if I didn't come into work for a few days without a phone call. Hate to thing of that senerio.

It must be in the air waves. I was thinking the same thing only yesterday... then I realised they must have cyber cafes in Heaven [coffee...must have my coffee]., we've only to figure out how to 'send ' the info from one dimension to another. It's our true purpose as a group. We are the first who've been [sort of] ensconced in the tech age, and when we pass, it's up to us to set up the system for information transfer. Alright, maybe I read too much science fiction....

Whoooooooo, Dolly , you're only 42 ....come on!! People in this Q & A will still see you for another 40 years. Your 6 children will need you to babysit their children too ( you like it or not) .

I love reading your answers though. See ya

Dolly the internet is a funny old world that exists in our minds. Unless of course you meet people. Perish the thought.

You are right, Dolly, my other half calls you lot my "cyber friends" I just call you the people that listen to me more than he does. LOL He would rather watch the golf, football, snooker, tennis, you name it if its a sport. ...
You would not know. I would just disappear, but in all honesty, I would rather he spent time getting the children adjusted to the loss of moi! than my "cyber friends" No offence. x
I am tired now and have to go to bed soon, working tomorrow. x

I haven't made any special friends on here yet...Can I be yours...lol.
But yes, It's sad to know that when a regular goes missing; anything could have happened.
Hopefully Dolly, You have years left.
