the actual reason it is ther is very primitive its bcos wen we wer walkin round in animal skins nd hings lyk that it wz attractive 2 smell of sweat so u hav hair in places wher u sweat the most i.e. genitals and armpits it is in theory of no use 2 us now but it was used 2 trap sweat nd 2 attract members of the opposite sex

The better question is why don't we still have hair all over?

In fact these areas become hairy at puberty, that are part of our secondary sexual characteristics. When we were animals running around naked they were one of the ways of letting the opposite sex know we were old enough to be interested in breeding. Nature of course neither knows, nor cares that we now generally cover these signals with clothes, making them fairly superfluous.

Generally hair is protection against climate amd external conditions.Hair on head protects for sun and dust.Hairs on testicles help in maintaining the internal temperature(like fridge) and stores sperms in good condition.

Pubs are there because as we evolved we lost hair in other ares and we have pubs and darker skin there is to protest from harmful sun exposure to our reproductive organs and to wick away sweat just like from under our arms.
