I'm in the UK. Need to get a laptop for my mum, who has a respiratory condition so cant carry anything heavy. She is using it to give DVD and powerpoint presentations to local churches and groups. She doesnt drive so will need to carry it around on public transport and walk.

Here are the criteria:
Light, ideally sub 2kg (she cant carry heavy things)
Reliable (she's not technical, and I live in a different town)
Good sized screen (eyesight not good for a small screen)
Ideally simple playback buttons for the DVD (some laptop keyboards have separate buttons)
Not too pricey (up to £700)

a) Is there a model you'd reccomend?
b) Is there a really good website that would review the options?

Look for an Ultra Mobile PC (UMPC). They are the lightest. But when going to places that have their own PC, nothing beats the 1Gb flash drive.

Hi,

Check into a MacBook. It's light, durable, and extremely easy to use (see demo link below).

It even comes with a remote.
