No Texas as a whole does not want to leave the United States just yet, nether does Perry, only a large minority of the Texas population want's that according to polls. This is an issue that that was brought up last year on April 15th during the TEA party. Perry never said he supported secession, in fact he said he agreed with the Texas founding father, Texas revolutionary war leader, and first president Sam Houston. Sam Houston was against secession from the United States cause he felt Texas could not win the war, and he couldn't bare to see Texas harmed trying. Beyond that Sam Houston knew and understood why Texas would fight. As Sam Houston said, and Governor Perry restated: "Texas has yet to learn submission to any oppression, come from what source it may." Texas is wild and independent people that won't be tamed, The fires of Texas Nationalism still burn deeply within the heart of Texas, where the Lone-star still proudly flys alongside not below the flag of the United States. Texas is a still and probably will forever be nation in every sense of the world. But Texas will not leave any time soon, she still has a lot of things she can try to make things right. But should the day ever come that Texas feels the need to again raise her head among the independent nations of the world, Rest assure she will not be going alone, nor will she probably be the first to go. Other States in the United States are far more trigger happy then Texas. Even in the Texas Revolution,Texas was not the first Mexican State to rebel against the Mexican Federal Government's oppressive acts.

I'm not leaving. My blood kin have been on this side of the pond since 1760. I do not need to wave a flag and act like a brain-dead, wacko, right-wing redneck to prove that I am American.
