Hire an attorney...I don't like the thought either, but hey, you need one now. They all can't be as bad as everyone jokes about. As far as what state he is in, try the state he was released from jail in. He was probably placed on parole and had to check in with a parole officer. The may know where he is...I don't know if they have to give you the information though! Good luck :)
