well if you think about it try to lift a tank filled with 20 gallons of water (pretty heavy) well with that in mind now think of the wieght of all those gallons of water that gravity is acting on the deeper you go. same reason the higher you go in the mountains the less pressure and thinner the air gets and is the reason some people get vertigo from high altitudes. things that live in deepwater have body structures that are built to withstand those extreme forces where humans are not. one way we found to go deep diving is to build submarines that are spherical so the pressure is dispersed over a round surface in simple terms limiting the ammount of force on any particular spot. i can get really into depth but i dont think you want a physics lesson. hope this somewhat answers your question.

Our bodies are not made to withstand the extreme pressure of so much water on top of us. Only a few, specially "designed" creatures can withstand the pressure. They are engineered to withstand high pressure from the water, we are land animals that are built to withstand gravity, that's all we can handle.

B/C we can't breath underwater, the pressure there would crush us, and it's cold and too dark for us to survive down there...duh

'Cos of the water pressure. Their bodies are adapted to withstand all of that pressure. It would kill us.
