If you can think of a spot, a thief can think of the same spot. It's what they do. You really want to probably get safety deposit box for really valuable items. In the house get a safe that is big enough that 1 or 2 people can't move easily.
If you're hiding these things from someone in your house it is best probably to keep them on you or at another location

places where thieves wont look for valuables such as in the bathroom under the bath or in a linen cupboard or in your loft or eves or in your water tank or in your electricity or gas cupboard. CD an DVD cases are a bad idea as most thieves will take them as there easy to sell and best to keep them away from anything else that a thief may take such as TVs video an DVD players etc you could also make a hidden stash under the floorboards an make sure its not obvious, you could make one under your bed then every time you want to get to it you would have to move your bed first. but prevention is better than cure so its best to deter thief's from your property by doing simple things like hanging chimes in all your windows so they can be seen from outside as they dont like making noise to break in and planting thorny bushes under your windows, also having a 4ft fence round your garden would make it hard for them and dummy alarm boxes and cameras also work

Actually, professional and even amateur thieves look in some of the places listed above. One place they look first is behind the toilet and in shoe boxes. The best place is the bank. But for ready cash, I keep bills in CD cases. And ... and this may be strange... a couple of our valuables are kept in a birdhouse that is protected from the weather and has been made impossible for birds to inhabit.

Wrap them up real good and stick in the top part of your toilet, you know that part that has all the flushing mechanisms.

Or, wrap tthem up, attach a strong magnet to the item, and throw them somewhere no person could ever get to, then when you need the item just get a string or wire with a magnet and retrieve your item.

My ex-husband used to be a thief because he was a drug user. He was a pro about it. He used to tell ME how to steal things. I am totally the opposite. I am so NOT a thief. I don't even like taking pens from businesses.

He stole cd's, dvd, any jewlery, watches, Laundry detergent, food, all my avon products, silver coin collection, 50.00 worth of half dollars, my car, my money, my important papers, my glasses so i couldn't see, the house telephone, tv remote controls, He even stole from his mother and sisters house, ANYTHING WORTH VALUE

My ex-husband told me never to hid things under a mattress or dresser drawers, its the first place he would look, because its the obvious. I had to hide things from him because he used to steal from me when we were married. He would even brake into rooms that had bolt locks on them and you would never know he was in there.

Everything i didn't want him to have I put it in the OVEN. for 13 years he never looked there, why, because he would never do house cleaning and would never cook. If your afraid someone will turn on the oven then take the knob off, they cant turn it on. You have to take off all the knobs so there not suspicious. Put the knob on when your cooking. Trust me this works

Now you know why I got a divorce.

I know your all thinking, "Why did you stay for 13 years?"
My answer, "I don't know, I was a dumb, young, fool?"

Safes in your home are a good idea. Also, some dressers come with a drawer that has a "false bottom" that you can lift up and hide things in. If you don't want to buy one I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to make.

Get a kitty litter box. Put your valuables in a plastic bag. Cover with kitty litter. Maybe a little " litter " on top would help.

Put it in a snack or quart size ziplock bag and place inside a oatmeal can, or inside a resealable bag of frozen veggies.

Inside of toys, in pet food bags, in your vacuum cleaner bag, in the middle of toilet paper, or paper towel rolls, inside of folded up sheets, or towels, inside of rolled up socks, in game boxes. There are lots of good places to hide stuff. I only listed the ones I don't use, but there are lots more. think about it!
