flight

2007-07-21 11:34:40 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

Almost all of us able to communicate already have a superpower and it is far more valuable than being able to fly, to dodge bullets, to throw flames, to crush things, to hear or see from a distance, or to grab immense amounts of money.

This superpower makes people happy by validating their existence. It makes you happy because you form friendships that are deeper than any other and can last a lifetime even if you don't see the person for twenty years. This superpower can change the fate of the world and save millions of lives.

Sounds too good to be true? It isn't.

Most of us move around in a box filled with our own brain noise. We only let small parts of what others are trying to say enter our box.

Dissolve the box. How?

Listen to other people without thinking of answers or objections to what they are saying. Try to see things through their eyes. Sincerely look for the good in them and/or their accomplishments or potential and then acknowledge that. Speak to people as though they already were what they most wish to be.
That kind of validation turns circumstances around. People will feel validated and will love and respect you.
Daisaku Ikeda did that and still does it and he has more academic honors and friends among world leaders than anyone ever. He even helped stop a war between China and the Soviet Union because the leaders of both countries trusted him and began a dialog instead of a war.

1. Omniscience would be good, and it would include the knowledge of how to achieve every other superpower.

2. If I can't have that, omnipotence would be satisfying, and it would include every other superpower except perhaps omniscience. If I can't have that, then in descending order:

3. Total invulnerability would have many advantages, but it could only be fully enjoyed in combination with other powers - superstrength, flight, superspeed, time travel, and various sensory powers.

4. Superstrength

5. Flight

6. Superspeed

7. Time travel and the power to interact with and affect those I encounter in my travels.

8. Enhanced vision, hearing, smell, taste and touch, as long as they could all be fine-tuned to avoid overload and/or disgust.

I often wish that I could be able to see into the future, but it's probably best not to have the power -everything would probably be more boring.

So, I would probably want for us humans to look young, even until the day we die. I.E. we stop looking any older when we reach the age of 21. Pretty superficial huh? but ppl. would be happier & have one less thing to worry about.

Time travel. I would love to be a time-researches (an historian of a different type). I think that being a time traveller is a power of the mind that we can cultivate.

Choice B would be to block those who would choose to read my mind. If I haven't said something to you, probing my mind for it is likely to leave you feeling hurt, insulted and offended.

the ability to teleport anywhere in an instant. :O that way if someone even tries to attack me I can teleport behind them and make them pee their pants, all while being unscathed. And then NO MORE TRAFFIC JAMS! :) And it will cut down all the time it takes to get from one place to another. The only draw back would be that the legs would get weaker probably, because of less use. xD Imagine "Teacher: plz sit in 1 seat back. me: *instantly teleports back to the behind seat* :)"

I wouldn't invent superpowers-superpowers evolve when people oppose Benevolence
